What Happened to Fall Into Books Literary Conference? 
Why Hold a Literary Event in Wichita, KS?

First of all, thanks so much for visiting Fall Into Books Literary Conference's website! 


Now to answer your questions - 
I decided to take a year off from hosting Fall Into Books Literary Conference for the year of 2013 because I wanted more time to plan the literary conference and also because I have so many things that I'm trying to do at this time. If you've ever planned a 3 day event before it takes a lot of time and dedication! You're literally planning 2 conferences at once because you have to plan the current conference and next year's conference simultaneously in order to stay on top of everything. Fall Into Books Literary Conference will resume in 2014 on our regular weekend, the third weekend in September! If you've joined us over the past 3 years we hope that you'll come back in 2014...or better yet come and visit us for 2013 Fall Into Books Wichita! If you've never made it to any of the Fall Into Books Literary Conferences we look forward to meeting you in the future! 

Fall Into Books Wichita is a 1 day literary event that I wanted to do for a very long time now. Fall Into Books Literary Conference's motto is "Connecting Avid Readers, Book Clubs and Authors One Literary Step at a Time!" Well I think it's important to concentrate in cities that completely miss the book signing tours and to introduce readers to some of their favorite authors in reading communities but not necessarily areas that you imagine that readers would exist. 


Wichita, KS is where I was born and raised and I can honestly say that I've never been to a book signing in Wichita as an adult and never knew what the importance of book signings nor knew what to expect at a book signing. Wichita is rich with readers and they should have access to the authors that they support and read for entertainment all the time. I want to sprinkle some literary love in my hometown and help support not only my fellow avid readers from Wichita and throughout the entire South Central Midwest region but also help authors connect to some of their most loyal fans that have never experienced attending a literary event, let alone meet authors that they read all the time and personally have them autograph their books. Wichita is also a great location for the readers that I hope to attract to the event from Kansas' neighboring states: Missouri, Kansas, Nebraska, Oklahoma and Texas! (and anywhere else readers would like to travel from as we normally do attract)

I truly believe that you have to be the change that you want to see. I want to see more authors in the Midwest region. I want readers to understand that their support is crucial in keeping our favorite authors working! With plenty of friends and family to support my efforts I KNOW that Fall Into Books Wichita will be a success!
